Every lesson aligns with the California State Standards at http://www.cde.ca.gov/be/st/ss/mthgrade7.asp
I can’t slow down or skip lessons because if I did, students would be unprepared for Algebra I, a state graduation requirement which is best completed in grades 8 and/or 9. I can provide additional help, however, if they are truly overwhelmed by Pre-Algebra. Please contact me if you have any questions about your student’s progress in math.

Sincerely, Susan Nisan

Ÿ Parents: Your student must work every problem assigned unless he or she has earned an assignment pardon.
Ÿ On class days only 15 EVEN problems are assigned. Most of these can be completed in class.
Ÿ All ODD answers are in the back of the book. Students should check these and circle all correct answers.
Ÿ All tests are graded with correct answers circled. Your student may reclaim lost points within one week by explaining in writing what error was made and how to correct it. Please go over your student’s test and help with this exercise.

Ÿ
Students: You must record all your work neatly. This is non-negotiable. (Ripped-out spiral notebook paper is not neat.)
Ÿ If you neglect to show your work neatly, you will need to recopy and resubmit your assignment.
Ÿ You will have class time to complete some work. Use your time wisely. Late work will be marked down.
Ÿ Keep trying! You can choose to have your final exam score as your semester grade if it improves your grade.
